Moderator Crews was born to the late George M. Crews, Jr. and Mary B. Crews of Durham, North Carolina. Pastor Crews is married to the former Yvette Reade of Durham, North Carolina. This union has been blessed with four children, Symone Paige, George Malcolm, IV, Jasmyne Taja' and Hezekiah Dallas.
Moderator Crews is a graduate of North Carolina Central University with a BA in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration. Pastor Crews received his Master of Divinity from Apex School of Theology in May 2016 and received Doctorate of Ministry at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
After receiving his call from God, Pastor Crews preached his blazing sermon on December 17, 1995 in the pulpit of the illustrious Rev. Dr. William Hazel Height of Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, after which he also received his license. Dr. Crews was ordained on July 25, 1999. Pastor Crews served as Pastor of Evans Grove in Wake Forrest, NC from 1999-2002. On March 17, 2002, Dr. Crews was installed as Pastor of Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills, NC.
Moderator Crews came with a vision for Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church. In the past eighteen years of leadership, dedication and love, Dr. Crews has accomplished the building of a new edifice, membership growth, new ministries, and leadership development. In 2003 and 2004, Pastor Crews and the Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church received Pastor and Church of the Year awarded by the Northern Orange County NAACP.
Moderator Crews is active in the East Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Association of North Carolina, where he has served as President of The Ministers, Deacon, & Deaconess Union and First Vice Moderator before becoming our current Moderator. He is also a proud member of the Beta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
As with everything that he does, Dr. Crews preaches and teaches with the fiery passion for the Word thereby always evidencing the fact that no matter how old or young, any vessel is fit for God’s use.
